Awards, Zombies, and Facebook Live...Oh My!
What a busy couple of weeks! Not only have we been nominated for multiple awards at the European ScareCon SCARs (four in total), but also Zombies may soon be making a return to the Victoria Shopping Centre, and if things couldn't get any more exciting we have announced a series of 'Behind the Shriek' Facebook Live Videos.
Awards
ScareCon is the European Scare Convention, where attractions from all over Europe come together in a variety of trade stands, talks, seminars, and exhibitions. Not forgetting, the prestigious SCAR Awards Ceremony, of which we won 'Best Original Concept and Design' in 2016.
We are excited to announce, that we have four nominations for the 2017 ceremony, with us up against some of Europe's biggest attractions, including Alton Towers and Tulleys. Nominations are for:
- Best Original Concept and Design
- Best Out of Season Event
- Best Multi-Attraction Producer
- Best Horror Room Escape
Winners are announced on the 23rd June, at Alton Towers.
Zombies
If there is one experience of ours, that we get asked about the most - it is Dead Centre, the Shopping Centre Zombie Survival Experience. It is not only iconic for Southend, and Essex, but also the UK, as it is the only Zombie Survival Experience to take place in an operational shopping mall (after hours, once closed to the public).
There's no guns or weapons, just you and your team of survivors locked into a Shopping Centre with the sole aim of trying to escape, not forgetting you won't be alone as a horde of Zombies will be hot in pursuit. Survivors are chased (this is a physically demanding experience) through the service corridors, loading bays, multi-storey car park and through the main precinct itself, all in an effort to survive the full 60 minutes.
We are currently in talks to bring the event back for 2017, so for everyone that keeps asking about when it will return...watch this space very closely.
Behind the Shriek/Facebook Live
In another development, we have just conducted our first ever Facebook Live - where we announced that we will be hosting a series of live videos over the coming weeks building up to the opening of The Séance - set to be one of the UK's Scariest Attractions. If you haven't already done so, like us on our Facebook page to be kept in the loop and be in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes.
